Halloween 2011 - Trick or Treating

Can I just say- I love Halloween more and more each year! I don't know what it is, but I just do! I guess the difference might be, that as a kid all I cared about was trick-or-treating to get the candy, and now...it's not even Halloween night that I care about much! It's the whole season, I think.
The trees changing colors. The smell of burning leaves. The chill in the air that inspires a whole new wardrobe, made up of cute layers and fashionable scarves. The simultaneous rush of excitement and fright while running through a dark corn maze. The clever decorations in neighbor's yards. All of it!!
...Okay, so I guess I do know what it is about that season that I love.
Just blogging about it is making me excited about this coming Halloween! But anyways! Before I get even more distracted with thoughts of Halloween, here are a few of the pics from trick-or-treating with the Baileys and Reeds! [Tyler had to work, so it was just me tagging along with them]

 Beautiful Alpine!

okay, during trick-or-treating I noticed from far away something super creepy!
A guy in a full black body suit just walking up the sidewalk!
I love Ethan's face in this pic!

But then I saw....there were two of them!
They were just walking parallel to each other on opposite sidewalks throughout the whole neighborhood!
Frickin freaky...yet clever....

At one point, we started to hear bagpipes. Assuming someone was blaring the music from a stereo, we were surprised to find it was a man playing them in his front yard! [In his scrubs, no less. btw, pretty sure he's an actual doctor and that's not a costume...I saw a pager on his pants]
So, everyone thought it was pretty amusing...except Liam. It scared the crap out of that little boy! Hahah! Poor Liam!

Ryan manned the stroller for a while, until I decided I wanted to give Lilly some attention! [Then we traded off every once in a while]

Sarah- caught in the act!

Halloween 2011 - Party at the Bailey's

I realized I skipped from mid-October to the beginning of November! Which means Halloween was left out! Well, I can't let that happen! So here goes for Halloween!

A few days before the actual holiday, the Bailey family hosted a Halloween party- which I was very excited about, mainly for the opportunity to dress up! (apparently, 20yrs old is too old for trick-or-treating-pshh!)
Anyways, originally Tyler and I were going to have costumes that go together (he was going to be a pirate, I was going to make a costume with gold coins, jewels and beads all over to go as---his "booty") but I put off making the costume, and then it was too late. So plan B it had to be! I got Ty's costume at Target, and I made mine! (Way easier than a pirate's booty!)

I got Tyler this costume cause I knew he'd like the bow tie! ....and there wasn't much of a selection left. haha!

The party consisted of tasty treats, huge pumpkins transforming into huge jack-o-lanterns, caramel apples, adorable decorations, clever costumes, monsters' inc, and lots of pictures!

My pumpkin is the angry one on the far right.
Can you guess which one is Tyler's? Hint: Tyler loves Harry Potter :)
I was trying to figure out what was on Jack's head- thinking maybe he hit his head- when I remembered! I kissed him just before this, and I had a ton of lipstick on!! haha!

Eventually all the kids [including Tyler] got bored of their pumpkins and either went off to play, or watch Monsters' Inc. Tyler was one of the few that sat and watched the movie [well, more like played on his phone]
I guess Jackson liked the sound of relaxing on the couch, cause it wasn't long till he joined Tyler there.
I looooove that Jack put his arm over Tyler! It's so sweet!
JackJack's so cute! He loves Tyler, and Tyler loves him! They're great buds!
[Kinda bummed Jack's blinking here, oh well!]

The Bailey Family.
One day when chillin' at their house, I suddenly was inspired- I should decorate their family portrait for Halloween! But, I had actually forgotten about it until about 20min before the party started, so I found some paper, scissors and a black sharpie [they didn't have black paper] and started creating! I was thrilled with how it turned out, and everyone loved it! Needless to say, Tyler and I are going to have to get a big [family] portrait so I can do this to ours!! [I also want to make ones for Christmas and maybe other holidays or birthdays!]

Thanks for the fun party, Rachel!
[also for the pics I stole from your blog :)]

Fall trip to Aunt Marilyn's 2011 & Tyler's birthday

Last weekend, Tyler and I got to go up to my Great-Aunt Marilyn's house in Perry to spend the weekend with my two older siblings and a good friend of ours. Tyler's birthday was that Sunday and I wanted to do something fun for it so we planned a weekend of partying! It was so much fun! It's always a treat to go up there; Aunt Marilyn is a delight to be around, and of course it's always a good time when hanging out with Alissa and Blake, especially since we're all married now! [And luckily to fun people!]

Our original plan for the weekend was to go to Lagoon for Frightmares, but that all changed when our faithful old Ford Taurus starting having crazy transmission problems, causing us to have to get a new car. That being said, we didn't exactly want to spend a fortune for one evening at a theme park, so we came up with something cheaper!
Friday night after 10:30pm [Which was when Tyler and I got off work] we picked up our good friend Corey, and set off for the 1.5 hour drive to Perry. We ended up getting there much later than we had planned, but that didn't stop us all from having fun. We all stayed up till 4am talking, laughing and catching up.
Saturday morning and afternoon was spent lounging around our Aunt's very comfortable and roomy house, where there was plenty to do for fun! [Pool table, foosball, airhockey, ping-pong, many board games and card games. WiFi. Need I say more?]
Evening came and it was time for us to head up to Wellsville in Cache Valley for the activity planned! Corn maze and haunted trail! [About 4x cheaper than Lagoon, and in my opinion, just as fun!]
First we went for a walk on their Haunted River Trail. It was quite entertaining, and I think they did a good job on it. Alissa and Seth walked ahead the whole time, notifying us, by scream, when something scary was about to hit us. After being followed by creepy disfigured people, chased by a Jeep and threatened with a chainsaw, we moved on to the corn maze. We began the walk by telling scary, but true, stories of things that happened to either us or people we knew. Soon after starting the maze, Tyler decided to be a cheater and look up a map of the maze that was nothing but a sky view photo of the farm on google maps.
Tyler's crafty like that.
Eventually we made him put it away and tried to figure it all out the old fashioned way! Or perhaps....the correct way! We made it out of the maze with time to spare before the farm closed, so we played on the huge pyramid/fort of hay bales! It was way fun! But kinda gross...and pretty dangerous in my opinion...but a good time, nonetheless. By 11pm, we were stinky, muddy and tired so headed back to Aunt Marilyn's and watched a semi-scary movie that put the majority of us to sleep 10 min into it. [We were more sleepy, than bored!]
In the morning we attended church, then played games till it was time for us to leave.
After Ty and I dropped Corey off, we went over to Tyler's family's house for his birthday dinner, presents and cake!
All in all, it was a good weekend. I got to spend time with family and friends, and I got to do something special for my sweet hubby. I'm so blessed to be married to such a wonderful, kind, and loving man, and I thank my Father in Heaven for that every day.
Happy Birthday, Babe! I love you!!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. Sadly, I didn't take any more than these :(
