It actually happened!!

So, remember my first post? About wanting a "nice" camera? Well guess what?? It actually happened! To be honest, when I was typing up that post, I didn't really think it would happen...at least this soon. But Tyler and I talked about it a lot and decided we had enough money saved up to afford it at this time! Hooray for saving money! Hooray for Costco! And hooray for wonderful husbands!
Eventually I'll start putting pictures on here that I take with my new camera! I'm looking forward to starting up this new hobby of photography!
Now to start reading the manual...
This is what my new Nikon D3100 looks like! Hehehe I think it's cute!
[The Nikon package that we got from Costco included a 55-200mm lense. I'm excited to try that out too!]

Today's inspiration

This evening, I had the pleasure of spending time with a very dear friend of mine, when we got to talking about some of the hardships and trials that are sometimes sent people's way. During the conversation, I was reminded of an important and comforting scripture that addresses tribulation and decided to share it with her. I hope she will remember it in the future whenever times get hard, and I hope all you reading this will find some peace in its promise.

The scripture comes from the 58th section of The Doctrine & Covenants, verses 2-4.

"2 For verily I say unto you, blessed is he that keepeth my commandments, whether in life or in death; and he that is faithful in tribulation, the reward of the same is greater in the kingdom of heaven.
3 Ye cannot behold with your natural eyes, for the present time, the design of your God concerning those things which shall come hereafter, and the glory which shall follow after much tribulation.
4 For after much tribulation come the blessings. Wherefore the day cometh that ye shall be crowned with much glory; the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand. "

It's comforting to know without a doubt that if I stay faithful and continue to live the Gospel through any trials and hardships, that I will be "crowned with much glory," in other words: blessed beyond my imagination.
Grateful to have the light of the Gospel in my life.

My very first post....

I have finally done it! I have created a blog! Which is just another website for me to be addicted to/obsessed with. Hmm....that could give out the wrong idea. Allow me to rephrase that.

I've created a blog! Which will probably prove just as addicting as Facebook! [Does that sound better? I think so...]

So to be honest, I'm only posting this right now to inform everyone that I really just created this blog to have it all ready for when I have a camera that takes quality photos, rather than using our camera phones. [Tyler would say "but my camera phone IS nice; it's 5 megapixels!"] yeah right, Tyler! And sure, we could get a cheap 10megapixel digital camera. But I'm saving for something nice.

So here I end my first post. Come visit again in maybe....September? Hopefully I'll have my "nice" camera by then :)
